On Progeny-

(1)

To us a child was create, and this day

Of conception; did I of long night's dream,

A glandular inflorescence did spray

Th'eternal projection my soul did seem.

With light's speed to'ard a dark bespeckled sky.

The universe enclosed and lost from sight,

Knew I then in fashion episteme, my

Place eternal was ensured that night.

This kind of knowledge be it of such mark,

Do place in memory indelible.

As in visit whose purpose be to hark,

Morphic alteration incredible.

Of life purpose and meaning be it shown,

Age and individuation my own.

Not too long after we did it confirm,

A birth there was in future time to be.

And in a further space of time affirm,

That mystery unravelled, gender He.

What was of greater joy than this be known,

Had been that no defect did there He own.

With much relief in haste did we proceed,

To prepare the eventful day to heed.

When last conjectured day was to arrive,

Much eagerness there was to be alive,

So impatient was he two weeks early,

To save us that anxiety surely.

Soon after midnight struck, had we set off,

Both give and take delivery thereof.
